Burna Boy Loses His 2020 Grammy Award To Angelique Kidjo
Nigerian afrobeats singer and songwriter BURNA BOY has lost his much anticipated Grammy Award for his album called “African Giant” to another African (Benin) female singer ANGELIQUE KIDJO.
The Beninese singer, Angelique Kidjo , was announced the winner of the Best World Music Album at the just concluded 62nd Grammy Awards which was held on January 26th.
With Burna Boy 2020 nomination, he has joins the likes of Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti and King Sunny Ade in getting listed in that category at the Grammy Awards.
Other Nigerians that has been nominated for Grammy include Babatunde Olatunji, Wizkid, Timaya, and Kah Lo.
In 1991 and 2009 Sikiru Adepoju is the only Nigerian to have won the Grammy Awards.
